Domeniul Prince Stirbey Winery

The Domeniul Prince Stirbey Winery iis located in the Dragasani vineyard, a region with over 300 years of winemaking tradition. The princely Stirbey family has crafted wines following principles developed and passed down through generations, principles we strive to honor and preserve for future generations. The current winery, designed by Prince Barbu Alexandru Stirbey at the beginning of the 20th century, was built to process grapes from approximately 20 hectares of vineyards, producing around 70,000–80,000 liters of wine annually. This remains the winery’s production capacity today. To meet modern winemaking standards, the facility has been updated with advanced equipment: stainless steel tanks for the initial stages of fermentation and clarification, oak barrels of various sizes for aging red wines, a pneumatic press to extract juice gently without damaging the natural aroma molecules, and a modern bottling line ensuring sterile conditions for wine packaging.
