Romanian Wines Shine Bright: Celebrating Over 500 Medals in 2023

In the dazzling world of wine honors, Budureasca, Jidvei, and Vintruvian Group (Crama DeMatei / Caii de la Letea) stand tall, each claiming over 50 international medals this year. Crama Girboiu, Cramele Recas, Domeniul Coroanei Segarcea, and Domeniile Samburesti join the winner's circle with 25+ medals. Among the global stars are Viile Metamorfosis, Domeniul Bogdan, SERVE, and Domeniile Averesti.

Romania took the spotlight at Mundus Vini, Germany's wine arena, seizing a remarkable 78 medals – 56 golds, including a prestigious gold for Domeniile Averesti's Diamond Selection Feteasca Neagra Barrique. Vinul Partium's (Carastelec) Rhein Riesling Finca Theresia 2018 claimed the coveted Best of Riesling title. From Crama Girboiu to Podgoria Silvania, Romanian producers showcased excellence.

At North America's wine extravaganza, Selections Mondiales des Vins in Canada, Romania scored 24 medals, with Vintruvian Group's Patima dupa Matei Feteasca Neagra and Epiphanie Feteasca Neagra both making it to the top 50 out of 1,500 entries. Epiphanie was crowned the best Romanian wine in the competition, adding another feather to Romania's winemaking heritage.
