Cantus Primus Merlot from Viile Metamorfosis is a refined expression of Merlot from the Dealu Mare vineyard, one of Romania's most acclaimed wine regions. Designed for ageing, the wine combines elegance, concentration and depth in a structured yet velvety style.
The 2020 vintage was marked by reduced yields following hail, resulting in grapes with remarkable concentration, richness and mineral character. These conditions created an excellent foundation for a complex and balanced Merlot with a strong sense of place.
After 18 months of ageing in wooden barrels, Cantus Primus Merlot develops additional depth and complexity. Small red fruits, balsamic nuances, spice and refined oak notes combine with ripe tannins, an intense ruby-red colour and a long, elegant finish.

Refined and layered, with aromas of cranberry, red cherry and raspberry, complemented by subtle balsamic notes from oak ageing. Hints of spice, dried herbs and cedar add further complexity to the bouquet.
Silky and well rounded, with juicy red fruit, warm spices and subtle earthy undertones. Barrel ageing contributes soft tannins and a touch of vanilla, leading to a long, balanced and gently savoury finish.
